POST-OP HAIR WASH

First Two Weeks After Hair Transplant

Proper washing of your scalp is crucial after hair transplant surgery as it helps in removing scabs and accelerates the healing process. We highly recommend following a specific hair washing procedure using a shampoo and lotion provided by us. This will help maintain the health of your newly transplanted hair and promote optimal growth. Neglecting to wash your scalp can lead to infection and potentially harm the success of the transplant. Please ensure to follow the instructions carefully for the best possible outcome.

The post-transplant hair washing process should begin 3 days after the hair transplant operation. Follow the instructions provided once a day for 15 days.

HOW TO USE LOTION & SHAMPOO

To begin, it’s important to note that the lotion should be applied to both the transplanted and donor areas. You should use approximately 7-8 drops of lotion for each area, and be gentle when tapping the lotion into your scalp. After applying the lotion, it’s important to wait for at least 1 hour before rinsing it out during .hair wash. Another important thing to keep in mind is the direction in which you apply the lotion. It’s crucial that you apply the lotion in the same direction as the transplanted grafts to avoid any damage. It’s worth noting that you may need to use more lotion for the donor area. This is because the donor area may be more sensitive and require a bit more attention. However, be sure to follow the same guidelines as above and be gentle when applying the lotion to avoid any damage. Lastly, use the medical shampoo to remove scabs and promote healing. After 1 hour, wash your hair as instructed. Create foam with the medical shampoo, gently spread it through the donor and recipient areas, and leave it on for 2-3 minutes before rinsing.

RINSING AND DRYING

To wash your head, it’s best to use warm water with low pressure. This is important because high-pressure water can damage your scalp and hair. It’s also recommended to avoid using a shower head to wash your head, as this can be too harsh on your hair and scalp. Instead, you can use a bowl or switch the shower head to a low- pressure setting to get liquid water.

The recipient and donor areas should be dried differently. To dry your recipient (transplanted) site, use a paper towel. Gently apply it over the newly transplanted grafts, so it absorbs the water. Do not rub the recipient area. For your donor area, you can use a regular towel. Avoid using a hairdryer, unless it is set to cool mode.
